Internationally renowned DJ Eddie Halliwell returns to Belfast on September 21st to headline Mandela Hall, following a blistering sellout show at the venue on 2012. Halliwell reprises his "Fire It Up" club brand, with support coming from DOD, as well as local crew Quest House. Tickets go onsale Friday at 9am from QUB Students Union, The Stiff Kitten, and Ticketmaster.

In the past decade Halliwell has established himself as a superstar of the dance music scene, consistently ranked in DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJ Poll, named as one of the ‘New Superstar DJ’s’ by Mixmag magazine and nominated in latter’s ‘Greatest DJ Of All Time’ poll.

His peers acknowledge him as a leading innovator in using new DJ technology and pushing boundaries, while fans across the world hail him as one of the most exciting DJs to perform on stage.

Behind the decks Halliwell is a hive of activity, constantly manipulating the music with lightning-quick cuts, layers of effects and slick scratches. Playing tracks from across a broad musical spectrum he harnesses the vigour of every beat, synth, hi-hat, squelch and squeak, using his technical expertise to generate energy and manipulate new sounds.

He pushes new DJing equipment to its maximum potential, performing tricks and generating effects unrivalled by his fellow music architects.Through his popular flagship show on BBC Radio 1 Halliwell reached into the homes of millions of people across the UK and beyond. Two years and eight Essential Mixes later his globally syndicated Fire It Up show attracts an audience of over 11 million listeners on major FM stations in over 40 countries worldwide.

Halliwell’s gig diary sees him playing far-flung destinations like Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Singapore, Japan, Canada and a host of other countries across Asia and Europe. He is currently in the midst of a tour of USA taking in cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin, Tampa and Saint Charles.

This year also sees the English spinner embark on his eighth season as resident of Cream at Amnesia in Ibiza, as well as launch his new concept and stunning audio/visual live show; Connected.

Now Halliwell returns to Mandela Hall for what will no doubt be another extravaganza of effects, tricks and energetic showmanship. He is joined at Mandela Hall by fresh faced beats stalwart D.O.D, whose DJ style can only be deemed as inimitable, in-your-face turntable wizardry.

D.O.D. has secured a wide cross section of fans with his music, which fuses the lines between house, electro, progressive and techno.

He has already obtained a Number 1 selling track on Beatport with ‘More Cowbell’ and has been working with leading electronic artists including Steve Aoki, Laidback Luke, and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike.

Eddie Halliwell performs at Mandela Hall, Belfast, on Saturday 21 September with support from D.O.D. Room 2 plays host to the Quest House DJs and doors open from 9.30pm to 2am.
